- The success of your collection and brand relies on the precise fit and functionality of every garment. Poorly fitting and uncomfortable garments will lead to unsold stock, customer dissatisfaction and lack of confidence to repeat buy from your brand, all of which are detrimental to your business.
- Whilst mannequins are useful during the initial stages of developing a new design, the toile or sample must be fitted on a real-life model with body measurements correct to your chosen sample size. This fitting should then be assessed together with yourself, as the client, and a technical designer/pattern maker. They will document any adjustments that need to be made to the pattern to ensure that your garment is not only aesthetically as you envisioned, but also comfortable and functional.
- The process of sampling, fitting, and revising the garment may need to be repeated several times before the style is perfect for grading into different sizes and onto the production stage. The number of repetitions typically depends on the complexity of the garment.
